Savage Worlds

Well - if we get back to playing regularly, this may be something that gets brought back to the table. However, I have not done much with this since BashCon 2010 when a single player manipulated the character creation rules (legally) and created a very powerful character.

Which led myself and Tom K to discuss the general strengths/weaknesses of the Savage Worlds system.

More than anything, I think it is more my lack of experience with running the system than anything else. I would like to get into a Savage Worlds game as a player at a convention to see how another person runs it.

BASHcon 2010

Saturday, 02/20/2010, 7 - 11:30pm
RIP01, The Gathering
You are a Ripper, one of a secret band of monster hunters dedicated to saving humanity from the horrors that stalk the night. This is an introductory adventure - no experience necessary - 1st in a series taking place in late 19th century Toledo, Ohio.

I will be adding some new stuff to the original adventure...

Now that JP has implanted some Ripper Tech, I knew there was something we were neglecting regarding his sanity.

Here is the technical information on Reason:

A hero’s Reason modifies all Spirit and Spirit based skill rolls, rolls on the Fright Table, as well as all Knowledge (Rippertech) rolls made during the creation or implanting of Rippertech. If you ever roll a 1 on any such check (regardless of the result of the Wild Die), your hero’s Reason is reduced by 1. Any time you improve your hero’s Spirit die type, you also add 1 to his Reason. As long as your hero has no Rippertech implants, his Reason cannot go below 0.

So - we will need to check everyone's Reason next time we play.

+1 for anyone to have increased their Spirit die type
